April is here and so begins all the Clean & Green activities. Although the Easter Egg Hunt had to take on a different perspective, youngsters still enjoyed the event.

The city and county clean up, held March 29, saw a good turnout with many organizations helping to do the job. Included are the Starr Commonwealth for Boys, Montcalm School for Girls,  Buckeye Youth, Cub Pack #31, Boy Scout Troop #35, Team Wal Mart and the Van Wert County Sheriff's Depart. Many 4-H clubs do the job around the county, as well.

A large turnout for the Adventure OUT program was seen Saturday morning, April 26. Above Sue Heppeard, Van Wert Parks and Recreation director, welcomes the group. Helping with the days events were staff from the Ohio Division of Watercraft, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Division, National Wild Turkey Federation, Starr Commonwealth for Boys and Montcalm School for Girls students. Financial support came from a grant from the Department of Natural Resources, Delphos Eagles and  The Van Wert County Foundation. Rural King supplied bags for handouts.
